Ranked - Daniel Craig Bond Films

Ranked - Daniel Craig Bond Films

From 2006 to 2021 there have been 5 James Bond films that have starred Daniel Craig and with his time as Bond coming to an end, I thought it would be appropriate to rank them from the worst to best. There could be spoilers here for these films and it is just my personal opinion.

5. Quantum of Solace (2008)

The first sequel in this reboot was Quantum of Solace and unfortunately it flattered to deceive. Many things went against it such as a weak cast, weak story and weak script and it feels like a large step down despite Craig trying and some entertaining action scenes.

4. Spectre (2015)

The fourth instalment of Craig's time as Bond was a large let down, it has some great action sequences and Craig just about does enough as Bond but it falls flat on feeling like the culmination of a story arc. A really poor narrative mixed with a way too long runtime makes it feel more ponderous then exciting.

3. No Time To Die (2021)

Daniel Craig's last time playing James Bond comes in at third and this is a huge step up from Spectre. He gives a fantastic performance in a film that is very engaging and does a good job with its other characters. It lives up to the hype and though it's not perfect it is a really good time.

2. Skyfall (2012)

After Quantum of Solace, Bond needed a shot in the arm and Skyfall was definitely that. It does a fantastic job of showcasing the relationship between Bond and M and provides a more personal and emotional Bond film. The action is great and has a fantastic villain that matches the intensity of Bond. Similar to No Time To Die there were some issues but it is a great film.

1. Casino Royale (2006)

The best film of Craig's era as Bond is his first Casino Royale. This film was the gritty and intense Bond reboot that was needed and it delivered it with flying colours, Craig is brilliant as the rough and more violent version of the character and the whole cast does a great job. It really delivers on a fantastic spy/action film and even if you aren't a Bond fan it will entertain you.

Overall

In the end I believe Daniel Craig had a good run as James Bond and delivered more good movies then poor ones, I hope that ratio can be even better for whoever is the next to play the iconic role.
