Wednesday Season 1 (2022) Review

Wednesday Season 1 (2022) Review

Ahead of the second part of the second season of Wednesday, I thought now would be the time that I actually watch this really popular show and give my take on it. So the last few days, I have watched the first season of Wednesday and here is my review for it. The premise of the show sees Wednesday Addams transferred to a school for pupils with powers, when an attempted murder takes place, she sets out to find out the potential killer.

Main Character

Jenna Ortega plays the titular character and she is fantastic. This is an incredibly nuanced and complex character and Ortega nails it with her delivery and mannerisms. The character must be a tough one to play but I was interested in Wednesday throughout and I thought Ortega was a huge part of that.

Supporting Characters

Hunter Doohan plays Tyler and I thought he was also really good in his role. The dynamic between him and Wednesday is well handled and I actually bought into their development as a potential romance.

Emma Myers plays Enid and is Wednesday's roommate throughout the season. She was great and the perfect foil for Wednesday as she tries to deal with moving to a new school. Their chemistry was excellent and a real highlight of the show.

Gwendoline Christie plays Principal Larissa Weems and she was great. This is a strong performance from her and even though she doesn't have loads of screen time, she really delivers and owns the screen in the scenes that she is in.

All the school mates are well cast and even though the school doesn't necessarily play the biggest part of the show the kids never annoyed me which is a bonus considering shows that are set in high school are likely to have some annoying kids.

Story

The story is good, this is a classic mystery but it definitely did a good job keeping me interested and invested. It also did a good job with its school storylines which are limited because usually they aren't very good. However, the ending of the season feels rushed. It's like they forgot they only had 8 episodes and rushed the last episode to get every story arc completed just in case they didn't get a second season.

Script

The script is great, there is a great combination of humour and drama. Also the dialogue is very quick and witty that elevated the characters here. Though I thought the final reveal was a bit predictable it still did a good job of keeping me guessing so that shows a decent level of writing.

Style

I really liked the artistic style of Wednesday. It really stands out and makes it unique compared to other shows and was one of the main reasons I liked this show. But this film has a pacing issue and as I mentioned earlier I think the ending of the show is a bit rushed and lacklustre, also there is some bad CGI here at times which is hopefully better in the second season.

Overall

Overall, Wednesday Season 1 is a Great Show and does a great job of building this universe for hopefully a bright future. It is a show you should watch as it is a brisk and enjoyable watch.

Virdee (2025) Review

Virdee (2025) Review

Going through the shows and films that are coming out, I saw this one advertised on the BBC and decided to watch the new crime drama Virdee. I got through the 6 episodes over the last couple of days and here is my review of the show. The premise of the shows sees a police detective attempt to find a killer who is targeting the Asian community while dealing with his own demons.

Main Character

Staz Nair plays Harry Virdee and he is fantastic in this show. He absolutely nails it as this hard boiled cop and he was a character that I really wanted to root for. He gives a really strong well rounded performance that fits the overall feeling of the show.

Supporting Characters

Vikash Bai plays Riaz Hyatt who is an unlikely ally of Harry and is also involved of the shady parts of Bradford. He is great and I really liked the dynamic between him and Harry and how the show does a great job of building their dynamic and relationship.

Aysha Kala plays Saima Hyatt, who is Harrys wife on the show and she is also great. I really believed in their relationship and the two of them have great interactions and story progression that makes them both strong characters.

The rest of the characters come from either Harrys work or both Harry and Saima's families who don't get along. Everyone does really great jobs in their roles whether they are big parts of the show or small parts. They make this feel like an authentic show that delivers on what it promises.

Story

The Story is good. There is a real mystery about who Harry is chasing, mixed with family and personal situations that feel realistic and a bit fresher then expected. However, I didn't find the reveal who was the killer to be that interesting and certain elements of the plot didn't seem that important and like it kind of fizzled out.

Script

The script has some smart writing and creates interesting characters to populate this show and aid in these great performances. But sort of linked above, I don't think the shows actual story and structure was great and was the part of the show that could have been improved.

Style

The show looks great, it really encapsulates the city of Bradford. The show is violent and moves at a great pace that I kept wanting to watch and became hooked. The action scenes are well filmed and the grit really adds a lot to the show.

Overall

Overall, Virdee is a great sleeper hit and a show that should be watched. I had a great time with Virdee and I hope we do get more from this show in the future and I would say, give this show a chance I think people will really enjoy it.

Lockerbie: A Search for Truth (2025) Review

Lockerbie: A Search for Truth (2025) Review

My first review for 2025 is here and it is a tv show that focuses on the real life events of the Lockerbie plane disaster, so it is a pretty serious watch. I have watched all of the 5 episodes and here is my review for the show. The premise of the show focuses on a doctor who is trying to get justice for his daughter and all the lives that were affected by the Lockerbie Plane Disaster that took place in 1988.

Main Character

Colin Firth plays Dr Jim Swire and you won't see too many better performances then this all year, he is truly fantastic. You see the real emotion and harm that comes to him during the entire show and the longer the case takes the more it takes out of him and his family. Firth really delivers this strong performance of this real man and you are really on his journey and support him.

Supporting Characters

Catherine McCormack plays his wife Jane and she is also brilliant. Though we see this show mostly through Jim's eyes we really see how it affects Jane and makes her feel like she is sleepwalking through life without her husband. McCormack really nails it and though she isn't the focus she is an integral part of the show.

Sam Troughton plays Murray Guthrie who is a journalist that works with Jim Swire and I really liked their dynamic. He clearly cares about the story and wants to get the evidence required to help Swire and the families affected. The chemistry between him and Firth is really great and I really enjoyed all the scenes they had together.

There is a big supporting cast and everybody just feels very genuine and appropriate for the story that is being told here and I give credit to every performer and this is a great ensemble cast.

Story

The story is obviously very upsetting and emotional and it handles it really well. It was gripping and kept me interested as there was twists and turns about who might have been responsible for the plane crashing in Lockerbie. But the films ending didn't quite work for me, it is difficult when you do a show based on real life events as you can't change it too much, but the ending was pretty drab compared to everything else that was shown during the show.

Script

Due to the subject matter, I was expecting an intense and emotional script and we get exactly that but it works really well. You really feel the emotion that is being conveyed on screen. It was a really well written show and though it gets complicated at times, I thought it explained everything pretty well.

Style

The show is well filmed and does a really good job of conveying the intense subject matter and does enough to keep you hooked for the next episode. Though, I do think the show drags at times and maybe could have cut an episode and really tightened everything up to create an even better experience.

Overall

Overall, Lockerbie: A Search for Truth is a Great Show. It is a hard watch and I will probably never watch it again but it is a really interesting watch and has some excellent performances. I would recommend watching this show once so you can truly understand more about this tragic story.

The Boys Season 4 (2024) Review

The Boys Season 4 (2024) Review

Due to being away, it took me a while to watch the last episode of the fourth season of The Boys but I have watched it and here is my review for the fourth season of Amazon's acclaimed show The Boys. The premise of the season sees The Boys attempt to finally kill Homelander after he starts to use his powers in public to cause fear.

Main Character

Karl Urban is once again back as Billy Butcher and I really like his character this season. After taking Temp V last season it is clear that Butcher is dying and doesn't have much time left and Urban really sells that. He is more brutal this season and trying to achieve his goals before he goes and Urban kills it this season.

I have always believed that Homelander played by Antony Starr is one of the best performances in any medium and this continues here. Homelander goes through so many emotions this season and I just love watching his mind work and I can't emphasise how great Starr is in this show.

Supporting Characters

Over the last few seasons A-Train played by Jessie T Usher has been one of the more interesting characters and this season really gives him plenty of screen time to further flesh out his character and he nails it. You see the conflict in him and that he actually wants to be a hero and not just Homelander's pawn.

On the contrary is a fantastic performance by Chase Crawford who plays The Deep, he becomes more committed to Homelander's cause and you really see the violence come out in him and Crawford plays this sleezy bad guy so well.

But I do think some of the characters get treated poorly this season. Jack Quaid plays Hughie and he goes through the ringer this season, his story does feel a bit disconnected from the main plot and Quaid is given very little to do and I just didn't care too much about him.

Erin Moriarty as Starlight is kind of insufferable this season, they do plenty of things to make you really not like her character but I never really felt any real redemption for her and I just wanted to see her get taken down and taken off of the show.

There is a huge cast and new characters such as Sister Sage, Firecracker & Joe Kessler are fantastic but characters we already had such as Frenchie and Kimiko are really misused and are actually pretty annoying.

Story

The overall story is pretty interesting, it shows The Boys and Butcher going to extreme lengths to try and take down Homelander. With Homelander really trying to hit his endgame and put supes in charge of the world. It is showed really well and I really like how the stakes have been risen for the last few seasons of the show. But, similar to previous seasons every character has to have their own individual stories and some of it just sucks, too much is going on and certain plot elements just aren't very interesting. But the show has a fantastic ending which has me excited for the fifth and final season.

Script

The show is still really well written, there is the combination of humour and drama here. The show is as outlandish as it has been before and this season it definitely leans into the politics within The USA but I always believed the show has made fun of elements of US politics so it has always been there.

Style

The show has kept the violence in their action and it just works for The Boys and the crazy elements makes it stand out to other shows of somewhat similar ideas. It is paced well enough despite the amount it tries to cram in and I think it was really fun weekly entertainment.

Overall

Overall, The Boys Season 4 is one of the weaker seasons of the show but it is still a great watch for fans of the show. With the next season confirmed to be the final. it has me excited for how they are going to give this show the send-off that it deserves.

Baby Reindeer (2024) Mini Series Review

Baby Reindeer (2024) Mini Series Review

So it has taken me a while to get around and watch what is probably the most talked about show in the world Baby Reindeer. Over the bank holiday weekend, I decided to sit down and watch this series and it was tough but I managed to get through it and here is my review for Baby Reindeer. The premise of the show is based on a true story and sees a man who is down on his luck start to get stalked and the impact that it has on both of them.

Main Character

There has been quite a bit of controversy about Richard Gadd who plays Donny and is the writer and producer of this show as well. But I am not going to look at that and just study him on his performance and he is truly brilliant in this show. I truly felt sorry for Donny and Gadd managed to encapsulate that really well. But their was some underlaying issues with Donny that actually makes him quite unlikeable and made him a more rounded character. The final 10/15 mins of Episode 6 is some of the best acting you will see in anything and he deserves real credit for it.

Supporting Characters

There has also been massive controversy about Martha played by Jessica Gunning and the real life implications but she is also great. She comes across as this crazy lady that is stalking Donny and you feel that way but she also has moments where you do feel sorry for her despite the crazy things that she is doing and has done.

Nava Mau plays Donny's love interest Teri and she is really good. They have good chemistry together and she feels like a realistic part of this show and how she reacts to finding out about Martha and the whole situation and I think she was good.

The rest of the cast also do fantastic jobs despite being less important parts. Tom Goodman-Hill as Darren & Mark Lewis Jones as Gerry were the best with one really unnerving performance and one hilarious performance.

Story

The story is incredibly difficult to sit through as it really deals with some serious subject matter. It is fascinating though and it really kept my attention to see the twists and turns would be taken next and how it would deal with its really difficult subject matter and it deals with it really well and makes it hit you. I did have a slight problem with the ending though, I understand what they were going for but it felt a bit cheesy and it didn't give me the validation that I think the show should have.

Script

The show is really well written. Donny's aspiration is to be a top comedian so the show has to deal with comedy well and it does, especially when Donny delivers poor performances but has some pretty decent comedy in other circumstances. The drama is obviously heavy and it is handled well with some great monologues and narrating from Donny.

Style

The show has a very grim and dark style that fits the overall feel of the show. I mentioned earlier that it is a hard watch and I know the show was going for that and they did a good job with it. But this isn't a show that that I would watch all at once, have breaks to realise the real issues that are being shown. The pacing isn't that great and sometimes the issues gets a little repetitive but it doesn't take too much away from the show.

Overall

Overall, Baby Reindeer is a great show. If you can deal with the really heavy subject matter then I would say give it a watch, but if you get triggered easily then I would skip this one as it can be hard to watch. But Overall, I really appreciate what Baby Reindeer gave as a show.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 (2023) Review

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 (2023) Review

After a long 16 episodes, I have watched all of the episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 and here is my review for it. The premise of the season sees after the destruction of Kamino, The Bad Batch have been staying low to avoid the Empire. While Crosshair attempts to find his place as part of the Empire and away from his old brothers.

Main Character

Hunter & Omega are once again the most important part of the show. Their dynamic has certainly progressed into a father/daughter relationship and it is nice to see. They are given plenty of screen time together and the show somewhat progresses them. There is definitely more of an ensemble story going on here but Hunter voiced by Dee Bradley Baker & Omega voiced by Michelle Ang give their best and do a good job.

Supporting Characters

Tech & Echo were two of the characters that I thought weren't given much in the first season but they get way more here. They are two of the shining aspects of the show and seeing these beloved characters getting more development and screen time is a great thing. Crosshair was my favourite character in the first season and that is the same here, I just love this character. His character goes through a lot this season and you see how he is torn between his allegiance to The Empire and to The Bad Batch, I just wish we got more of him this season. There are plenty of guest characters this season and they are handled well with some returning characters from other shows and I like how this show does an effective job of paying respect to other areas of Star Wars.

Story

The 2nd half of the season does an excellent job of progressing the story, I really cared about this group of characters but also the way that the Empire was working at this time period. Certain characters get time to shine which helped with making these characters even more interesting. The final 2 episodes are fantastic and do an excellent job of showing this show at its best and how it is becoming more mature. But the first half of the season, mostly misfired. It was way more episodic and episodes felt filler which made me not have the best start for the show. It got going eventually, but I can't deny that the first half of the show was a disappointment.

Script

The script is much improved from the previous season. The characters are written better and there is more reason given to really care about them. As I mentioned above, this show is getting a bit more mature and that is represented in the writing which is more emotional and well done.

Style

The shows design is great. The action scenes are really well done with animation being smooth as ever. I really noticed that the sound and music really added a lot to the final episodes of the shows run. But there is no doubt that the pacing is off. There are too many filler episodes and I still stand by the fact that this could have been a 10 episode season and it would have worked. There also wasn't enough Crosshair for me which was a sacrifice due to the structure of the show.

Overall

Overall, Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 is an improvement of the first season and was a great season. Once you get through the filler this is some fantastic Star Wars storytelling and it really nailed it.

Star Wars: Rebels Season 3 (2016) Review

Star Wars: Rebels Season 3 (2016) Review

With the 2nd season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch coming to Disney+ next week, I decided that it was finally time to finish my review of their previous animated show Star Wars Rebels and here is my review for the third season. The premise of the show sees after the traumatic experiences of the previous season's finale, the crew of the Ghost attempt to continue to build a rebellion. But the introduction of a new Imperial leader makes their lives more difficult then ever.

Main Character

Ezra Bridger is once again the main character voiced by Taylor Gray and this is a strong performance. You see the issues that he has been going through since the events of Malachor and it actually feels pretty natural. His character comes across similar to how I feel about Luke Skywalker is A New Hope, he is a bit whiny and annoying at times but you do end up rooting for him and wanting to see him succeed. For a show heavily aimed at children, this is a pretty mature and complex character.

Supporting Characters

This show has a huge cast so I will probably just mention my favourite ones. Freddie Prinze Jnr voices Kanan Jarrus and he is fantastic. After being blinded by Maul, his character has to go through plenty of development to really gain an understanding in how to be a full Jedi and this is handled in an appropriate way. Sabine Wren voiced by Tiya Sircar is given way more to do this season, the whole Mandalorian storyline is expanded this season and her character is tied very closely too it. Focusing on this supporting character for a few episodes could have been dull but it ended up being some of the best episodes of the show. The rest of the Ghost crew, Zeb, Chopper, Hera & Rex are given time to shine to and it is just really nice seeing a show focus on a group of characters that are just so likeable. Maul is back for a storyline voiced by the excellent Sam Witwer, his presence is hanging over the whole season and even though he isn't the main threat I really liked how he is used with some of the biggest moments of the show. But the addition to the show that really shined was the addition of Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, his chilling voice and overall demeanour is superb. The way he is presented makes him one of the best villains in the Star Wars universe, everything from his tactical mind to score make him a major threat and easily my favourite part of this show.

Story

The story is better here, it focuses on some major plot points that focus on the characters and the building of the Rebellion. Maul's story, the Mandalore plot and Thrawns hunt for the Rebels are easily the best and thus give this season way more intrigue and care then previous plot lines. But there is still some filler here, it's not as bad as the previous season but I wish there was a few less episodes and the focus was even more on Thrawn and how his mind works.

Script

Though this show is meant to be for kids, I feel like season 3 was more mature and the writing was improved. The majority of the characters grow and are developed, there are some legitimately dark moments and even though the humour is still a bit childish it works overall.

Style

The show has its unique style but there has been a clear improvement from Season 1 to Season 3. The set pieces are bigger, the action is more exciting and the characters just look sleeker. The shorter length of episodes make this an easier binge which considering some of the episodes was required. But as I mentioned above, there is a bit too much filler for me. I don't know why this season felt like it needed 22 episodes as it does hold it back a bit.

Overall

Overall, The third season of Star Wars Rebels is a great addition to the Star Wars universe. It is fun and shows the Rebellion being built in a more interesting and worthwhile manner.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Season 1 (2022) Review

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Season 1 (2022) Review

I feel like Star Wars animation has been pretty consistent over the last few years but Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi kind of snuck under the radar and I managed to watch the season yesterday and here is my review for the first season. The premise of the show documents two stories, it shows how Count Dooku became estranged from the Jedi Order and how Ahsoka Tano rose up and survived the events of Order 66.

Main Character

The great Corey Burton once again voices Count Dooku and he does a tremendous job in this role. This is easily my favourite depiction of the character and seeing him in his role as a Jedi is really interesting. It further enhances his character in the films and does a wonderful job in showing his motivations and makes him a way more interesting character. Ashley Eckstein reprises her role as Ahsoka and she is great of course, her character doesn't get the intrigue and depth that Dooku does but Eckstein could play this role in her sleep and do well and that provides a fun performance here.

Supporting Characters

The show focuses on the two main characters mostly but littered throughout are iconic Star Wars characters such as Mace Windu, Qui Gon Jinn & Yaddle who get plenty to do. Bryce Dallas Howard voices Yaddle and it was interesting to see this character get more to do and I liked how she was depicted. Seeing Anakin & Rex back for Ahsoka's story is good too and it is done well enough.

Story

The story of Dooku's story is fantastic, genuinely one of the best Star Wars stories I have seen in recent memory. Seeing this respected Jedi become more discontent with the ways of the Jedi & Senate and it actually making sense was really great to see. But the Ahsoka stuff just wasn't that great and felt a bit tacked on, I kind of wish the show had just focused on Dooku as I felt the Ahsoka stuff didn't deliver much extra depth to her character.

Script

The script is really good, this is a pretty serious and sombre show but it really works. I appreciate that even though it is an animated show it doesn't treat us as children and delves into really serious themes and situations.

Style

The animation looks great and there are some fun action sequences. The fact that there is only 6 episodes which are really short makes it a really easy watch too. But again the layout was slightly weird and the Ahsoka episodes felt shorter and a bit less grandiose.

Overall

Overall, Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi season 1 is a great show that follows on from the solid work of the Clone Wars. The Dooku stuff is amazing and the Ahsoka stuff is okay, it is an easy watch for any Star Wars fan and I would easily give it your time.

House of the Dragon Season 1 (2022) Review

House of the Dragon Season 1 (2022) Review

After the somewhat disappointing ending to Game Of Thrones, we have waited a long time for the spinoff show House of the Dragon. The first season of the show has just finished and here is my review for it. The premise of the show is set almost 200 years before Game Of Thrones and sees the House of Targaryen in charge of the 7 kingdoms and having to deal with all the conflict that comes with that.

Main Character

Milly Alcock & Emma D'Arcy play the young and older version of Rhaenyra Targaryen and they are both fantastic. Alcok creates this really interesting young character and she is just enigmatic on screen and I don't know why but she was one of the best parts of the show. When D'Arcy took over the role she did a great job on building on the hard work that Alcok did and feel like an older version of this character. She is just really charismatic on screen and even though I wasn't a huge fan of the time jump she did a great job.

Supporting Characters

This is one of the biggest supporting characters that you will ever see, so I definitely won't mention everybody but everybody is fantastic in this show and delivers really strong performances. Matt Smith plays Daemon Targaryen and he is probably the best part of the show, he is so charismatic and he owns the screen in every scene that he is in. The character has so much development and intrigue of the show that seems to have earnt him much praise and love from the fandom. Rhys Ifans plays Otto Hightower and he is certainly one of the more manipulative and conniving members of the cast. This character reminds me the most of the best characters from GOT and seeing him try and manipulate the situation is interesting to watch. Paddy Considine plays King Viserys Targaryen and he is fantastic, you see this man try and control this whole situation that he is put in and Considine nails it, especially throughout the time jump where he has to give very different performances.

Story

The story of the show is interesting. It documents some of the events that we were told about in GOT and seeing this rich lore come to life, the plotting and scheming is there and when it really gets into it, it really hits the high notes. The issue is mainly about the amount of content that is attempted here, the infamous time jumps have been an issue for me and made it sometimes hard to care about these characters. Also the finale didn't feel as high stakes as I think it should have done, which is a bit disappointing.

Script

The script is really good. The writing is strong and the characters are much better written here. It is a very serious show with only a few sprinkles of humour but it feels appropriate and I am just happy to see these people fleshed out.

Style

The show looks amazing, the CGI is out of this world and the budget is definitely a big plus. When the action takes place, it is handled really well and in pretty brutal fashion. But the pacing of the show is a bit off, first the time jumps really don't help with getting us established with these characters and their actors. Also some of the episodes do feel a little slow at times with not much actually happening which is a shame.

Overall

Overall, House of The Dragon Season 1 is a Great start for this new spinoff series. It continues good work from Game Of Thrones and with a few refinements it can live up to the epic heights.

Moon Knight Mini Series (2022) Review

Moon Knight Mini Series (2022) Review

After 6 episodes, Moon Knight has come to an end and here is my review for the MCU series on Disney+. The premise of the show sees a man with different personalities given the power of an Egyptian God, he has to decide how to use his powers in his fight to survive.

Main Character

Oscar Isaac plays Moon Knight, this role involves a lot from him as he has to play both Marc Spector and Steven Grant. Spector is the more hardcore and aggressive version, whereas Steven is more caring and adverse to violence. Isaac does a brilliant job balancing the two personalities, both feel like real characters and have some great development that makes this one of the more interesting characters in the MCU.

Supporting Characters

Ethan Hawke plays the villain Arthur Harrow and I thought he did a good job. He isn't the most interesting villain ever but Hawke gives it his all and his talent maximises every bit out of it and it made him a worthwhile addition to the show. May Calamawy plays Layla and I really liked her in this show. The dynamic between her and Isaac is handled really well and she is a really strong female character that never got annoying or overshadowed Moon Knight. F. Murray Abraham voices Khonshu and his booming voice adds so much to the role and it makes him come across as this major being that controlled Marc and Steven's lives completely.

Story

The story is good, the show keeps things hidden but drip feeds with the information that is needed to know. I really cared about both Marc & Steven and the more you learn, the more interesting it becomes. I also like the deep delve into the Egyptian gods and it opens more doors for the future of the MCU. But there are a few issues with the storytelling, mainly the whole bad guy plot. Though Hawke does a decent job, his whole goal and motivation is weak and bland and it kind of fades into the background for me.

Script

The script is great, the drama hits some high levels without feeling cheesy or over dramatic. There are bits of humour that made me laugh too, the blend is there and even though the connection to the MCU isn't huge in the show, it certainly has a bit of the tone involved.

Style

The style is very high budget and it does work. When Moon Knight is on screen it is fantastic, the action is smooth and actually a bit more violent which I felt was necessary for the character. It was paced well too, I was interested by what was going on and every episode felt a bit different which helped bring me back every week. Though I have a problem and that is the lack of Moon Knight on screen. For a new character, the actual character of Moon Knight isn't there enough and that for me felt like a let down.

Overall

Overall, Moon Knight was a great show and introduced this new character really well and got me invested. If you think this show could be for you, then I would say give it a chance.

The Book of Boba Fett (2021) Series Review

The Book of Boba Fett (2021) Series Review

After 7 weeks and much hype and discussion we have come to the end of The Book of Boba Fett and I have watched all of the episodes and here is my review for it. The premise of the show sees Boba Fett return to Tatooine and take over Jabba The Hutt's thrown, he now has to deal with the issues that come with power and the enemies that brings.

Main Character

Temuera Morrison reprises his role as Boba Fett from The Mandalorian and I personally think he is fantastic. He adds some real intensity and ferocity to the role while actually managing to give the former bounty hunter a character. I really like how he portrays the character and he just fits into the role naturally and I enjoyed learning more about what has happened to him that makes him more then just this cool looking guy who had nothing to do in the films.

Supporting Characters

This show had a huge cast and by now I don't think any of them are spoilers so I will talk about as many as I think are appropriate. Ming-Na Wen is back as Fennec Shand and she is also great, I really like the dynamic between the two of them and exploring the duo is one of the highlights of the show. She is also great in the action scenes and I swear that women will never age as she is clearly doing the majority of her own stunts. Pedro Pascal voices Din Djarin and it is great to see him back and seeing how he has progressed since the end of the Mandalorian season 2. He gets way too much screen time but there is no denying that the show does a great job of showing his character at his best. We also see the debut of Krrsantan, a wookie from the comics and it is really cool to see this guy in action and seeing this fearsome more intense wookie on screen is something we haven't really seen before. The rest of the cast are all solid with many cameos that was enjoyable to watch.

Story

I really enjoyed the flashback story of seeing how Boba escaped the Sarlaac and made his way to finding Din Djarin in The Mandalorian. I also liked seeing Boba trying to establish a new rule in Mos Espa with this more honourable mentality. I then liked all the stuff involving Din Djarin and some of the wider Star Wars stuff. But the issue is that it doesn't quite work together, all this stuff is good but it feels like 3 different shows at time and I think they took on way too much for the show and it ended up leaving me a little confused as to why the show was called The Book of Boba Fett. The finale delivers though and ends up on a positive note.

Script

The script is good, I feel like Boba is a character that doesn't need to talk that much and he still doesn't really but when he does it feels effective. The drama worked for me and the bits of humour is a nice addition. It just feels like Star Wars and that is the job that is required for sure.

Style

The show looks fantastic, the budget is huge and the effects are top of the range. Seeing Boba and the other characters in full flight is really fun and I love watching this Star Wars adventure. But there are a few issues, the first one is that after all these years I am a bit fed up of Tatooine and this show is mostly set there and it becomes a bit dull. The other issue is the overall pacing of the show, it links to the story and that so much is packed into the show that at times it loses focus on the story that it is trying to tell.

Overall

Overall, The Book of Boba Fett is a great show that has some great Star Wars fun. It has some issues but if you are a fan of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian and Star Wars then this is a must watch for sure.

Cobra Kai Season 4 (2021) Review

Cobra Kai Season 4 (2021) Review

Over the last few years, Cobra Kai has been one of my favourite shows and season 4 has just come to Netflix on New Years Eve and I have now watched it all and here is my review for it. The premise of the season sees Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso being forced to team up to attempt to take down the rising power of Cobra Kai.

Main Character

William Zabka and Ralph Macchio have been great returning as these two characters over the last few seasons and that continues here. It is fun watching them to co-exist with their very different teaching styles and I like how both of these characters do stick to their core beliefs and don't give into each other easily. They are both great again and it always amazes me that this show has managed to turn these two into interesting characters.

Supporting Characters

Tanner Buchanan as Robbie and Peyton List as Tory have been some of the less interesting characters for me but I thought they both really shined this season. They both go through interesting character arcs and you see how especially Tory isn't just a pure villain and has a real depth to her. Martin Kove is back as John Kreese and he is just really fun to watch, that maniacal calculating manipulator comes through really well and even he is given more time and care to make you more interested in John Kreese. Thomas Ian Griffiths reprise his role of Terry Silver from Karate Kid 3 and he owns the screen, he is the perfect addition to this show and I really think he was a shot in the arm and different dynamic that aided the show overall. The whole cast is great and it is so large to go through everybody but everybody has a role they fill well.

Story

The story is interesting, seeing Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang attempt to co-exist is a fun watch and shows the real issue in rivalry. When the show leads to The All Valley Tournament it is at its very best and keeps you guessing as you have no idea what is going to happen. But this show does have some issues with its storytelling, there is a story involving the LaRusso Son and I really didn't like it and felt it took way too much story time away from other characters who are way more interesting. Also after 4 seasons it does feel a little bit tiresome watching Johnny and Daniel arguing so much as it feels like maybe it is a bit too much. But by the end of the season I was very satisfied with way the season finished.

Script

The script is really good, it is cheesy but I guess I think this show has cheesiness that manages to work because of the overall absurdity of the show's premise. The drama really does hit this season and I felt like especially in the last two episodes that there was so much heart involving these characters.

Style

The action scenes have never been better then they are in this season. The Karate is filmed so well and the athletic prowess is really well realised here with some really memorable moments. There is a good balance between humour and drama as well and it does feel in sync. But there are some pacing issues here and I think that is probably due to the amount of characters that there is on the show and that the spotlight is put on so many of them and that does make it a bit all over the place at times.

Overall

Overall, Cobra Kai Season 4 is a great season of the show. For me it is the weakest season of the show but that doesn't stop it from being really entertaining and a great watch.

Vigil Season 1 (2021) Review

Vigil Season 1 (2021) Review

Vigil has been the biggest show in the UK the last few weeks and today I decided to watch all 6 episodes of it and here is my review for the sure. The premise of the show sees a detective sent to a submarine when a death of a crewman takes place.

Main Character

Suranne Jones plays the lead character here and she is really good in her role. She is clearly really good at her job and you see how the affect of being on this submarine really affects her compared to the crewman. You learn more about her character as the show progresses and it makes her an interesting role and very challenging role for Jones.

Supporting Characters

The entire cast are fantastic, Rose Leslie plays her partner who is investigating a slightly different angle on land. She is really good in her role and I thought she managed to elevate certain material and make it better then it had any right to be. Though they don't share too much screen time together Jones and Leslie are really good together and have really good chemistry. There are so many crewman played by really talented actors that I won't go into depth about them but Martin Compston, Shaun Evans, Paterson Joseph, Adam James & Connor Swindells are all great. They have meaty roles and they do plenty to drive the narrative in the sub. Stephane Dillane also does a good job as the guy in charge of the navy and you see how he has to deal with the circumstances that are at play.

Story

The story is good, it does a really effective job of dragging you into its narrative and making you care. There are cliff-hangers a plenty and plenty of suspects that could be guilty of foul play, it achieves this well by creating interesting personalities and people. But the show does end up feeling a little flat with its ending and sometimes it becomes a bit confusing and illogical with its overall story.

Script

The script is effective, it is obviously really serious but it works for the situation that these characters are in at pretty much all times in this submarine. It feels really intense and there are so many characters that have something to hide that the intrigue is done really well.

Style

The show is shot really well, the submarine looks really great and I thought the claustrophobic feeling of the sub delivered and made the whole atmosphere be on a knife edge no matter what was going on. But I think the show has a bit too slow a pacing at times and I think maybe there could have been an episode left which would have made it a more condensed but effective watch.

Overall

Overall, Vigil is a great show that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout and keep you guessing as to what is going to happen next.

Lupin Part 2 (2021) Review

Lupin Part 2 (2021) Review

The first part of Lupin came out early this year to rave reviews including from myself and after a long wait I have finally got through Part 2 and here is my review for it. The premise of the show sees Assane still attempting to take down Pellegrini while trying to find his son.

Main Character

Omar Sy is back as Assane Diop and he is fantastic in this role. You truly end up caring about Assane and despite some of the questionable things he has done you want to see him succeed in his overall mission. He is so charming and charismatic and creates this really interesting persona that sucks you in and make this a really great lead character that leads this story well.

Supporting Characters

The rest of the cast are also fantastic, filled with prime French talent they are compelling and very interesting characters. The allies to Assane are interesting and have their own motivations and ideas and the bad guys are slimy and bad people that we want to see taken down.

Story

The story feels like it is split into two and for me I did prefer the last couple of episodes as they felt more interesting to me. The story continues to do a really good job in showing Assane's personal story and his motivation for revenge. The show manages to convey its heist and mystery ideals and it raises the stakes from the first season. However, for me it took a little bit for this season to get going and certain elements of the story weren't as great such as the whole family and police storylines.

Script

Despite the script being in a foreign language to me, it was really effective. The mix of drama, humour and complexity is there. They manage to create interesting characters and a narrative that pulls you in and makes you buy some of the more absurd and convenient aspects of the show.

Style

The style of the show is good, in terms of visually it impresses. The heists are bigger, the cons are more convoluted and intricate but in a real fun and rewarding way. It just feels like a level up from the first part and that is how it really should be. But the show does have a bit of a pacing issue, as I said it feels like the season is split into two and that can be a little jarring for sure, also there are flashbacks used here and the majority of them feel pointless and like a tacked on reason to explain how something is happening in the main story.

Overall

Overall, Lupin Part 2 is a great follow up on its predecessor and keeps up those high levels. If you like interesting heist shows then give Lupin a go and I think you will really enjoy it.

Line of Duty Season 6 (2021) Review

Line of Duty Season 6 (2021) Review

So after binge watching the previous 5 seasons of the show I have now watched the new season of Line Of Duty and here is my review for it. The premise of the season sees AC-12 investigate a police operation which might have links to The OCG and their hunt for the fourth man.

Main Character

Kelly Macdonald plays the main new character - Jo Davidson and she is really good here. She is a strong character and one that is clearly very good at her job, but what maybe allows her to stand out is that she has a vulnerable side and it made it a bit easier to care about her situation compared to some of the colder characters from previous seasons and Macdonald does a really good job of fitting in nicely to the whole Line of Duty universe.

Supporting Characters

Martin Compston is back as Steve Arnott and the show picks up with him in an interesting place but of course he is great. The season delves more into his personal life and the issues he has had since an event that took place in a previous season and he really delivers on it and turns it from something that could have been dull to something that is heartfelt and also shows his vulnerability. Vicky McClure is back as Kate Fleming and she is also in an interesting position which leads to her to be separated from AC-12 and it allows her to really shine as an actress and show a different side of Kate and not just always looking at the worst in other officers. Adrian Dunbar also returns as Hastings and he is just so good, he has so many great lines that have become memes as far as you can see. But the character is also really well realised and after the events of Season 5, he is even more determined and this trio is as effective as ever in their hunt for OCG. Shalom Brune-Franklin joins the cast as Chloe and she is a really nice addition, at times it feels like this girl is carrying AC-12 and it has been a while since we have seen a good character join AC-12 and she does a good job at it. There are also plenty of characters who return from previous seasons and I always love how this show connects events from the entire show into the current story.

Story

The story is good, after the turbulent ending to Season 5 it leads all the main characters in vulnerable and unique positions and I thought the show did an effective job in conveying that and how these characters have developed. It also does some new things and avoids the risks of just being a complete rehash of previous seasons which at this point is something that is needed. But the story does have some issues which culminates with a poor season finale, that has one particular reveal that happens which left a sour taste in my mouth and unless addressed in the next season will be a big let down as it currently feels to not just me but the majority of viewers.

Script

The script is very good, the interview scenes are as intense as ever with one in particular being a gripping watch and showing just how good this show can be. It keeps twisting and turning and mix that with a nice blend of humour and drama and you have an effective script.

Style

The show has always had a unique and interesting style and that continues here. Despite having to film during a global pandemic the show manages to keep those intense interview scenes in and the great cinematography that adds so much to the whole experience. At times it also feels like this is a pretty action heavy season which I have no issue with and it is all handled pretty well. Though this season has an extra episode and because of that it does feel like the pacing is a little bit off and I think the show should have stuck with its 6 episode structure. It led to a pretty poor finale which I think could have been avoided somewhat by not taking as long to get there and obviously some story changes.

Overall

Overall, Line Of Duty Season 6 is a great season of television. I know some people are disappointed by the finale but there is no denying the first 6 episodes are really well made and of the high quality to be expected of this show. If you haven't started Line Of Duty get on it as it is a really great show and I guarantee that there will be a seventh season and it will hopefully be even better then this one.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Mini Series (2021) Review

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Mini Series (2021) Review

So yes better late then never but here is my review for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, the second Disney+ series made by Marvel Studios and after the success of WandaVision there was big hype for this show and let's see if it delivers. The premise of the show sees Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes have to unite in order to take down a new group while dealing with personal issues that have defined their lives.

Main Character

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as the lead characters are fantastic here and they have amazing chemistry together. I've always felt like Mackie has been underutilised in the MCU but he is given the spotlight here and he is great, you see how real life circumstances affect his performance and after the events of Endgame he is really struggling what his role exactly is as a hero and it is very effective. Stan has always been great and he gives a really strong performance here, there is so much emotion to the character of Bucky Barnes as he really tries to move on from his past as The Winter Soldier but it provides some stellar scenes and I love both of these characters and felt like they really moved up from supporting characters in the films to main characters here.

Supporting Characters

Wyatt Russell plays John Walker and this guy is amazing, I mean the internet literally united to hate this character and that takes an incredibly skilled actor to do that. I actually felt like he was such an interesting and real character that had plenty of depth towards him and you see how he is really affected by the pressure of his new role. Daniel Bruhl is back as Zemo and he is probably my favourite part of the show, when he arrives on the screen the show just gains more life and energy to it with Bruhl clearly loving his role and allowing more freedom the he had in Captain America: Civil War. Emily VanCamp is also back as Sharon Carter and she is really good, they do some interesting things with her character and you see how the past 5 years that the character has had to go through has really affected her more then most. Carl Lumbley plays Isiah Bradley and wow this is such a strong performance, the emotion is ramped up ten fold when he is on screen and it feels appropriate due to the real life issues that are clear inspirations and he knocks it out of the park. Erin Kellyman plays Karli and I think she is okay, the MCU has sometimes had issues with antagonists and I think Kellyman does the best she can and really tries and it doesn't affect the role too much and more of the issue is the storytelling for her and her groups role.

Story

The story is good, the dynamic between Sam and Bucky is really affective and I love how it develops as the show goes on and progresses very naturally. The show is also effective in showing the legacy of the shield of Captain America and how there is way more then we knew from the films. The show also manages to spend more time with the characters and find out more about there characters and ideals and that is only something this show can do. But there are a few issues and for me it was mainly to due with the villains The Flag Smashers, I think when they wrote them it sounded great on paper but it just wasn't as good as it should have been. The show needed to do more with them and make us actually care about them which they just missed here.

Script

The script is really good, The MCU has always had a blend of humour and drama but this show does it ever so well. There is a nice amount of laughs and that is mainly due to the chemistry between the two leads. But the drama is really well done with some truly emotional scenes that are made really well and executed in a way to really make you care.

Style

The style is good, in terms of the action scenes and the scale I thought it was really good. It at times feels like one of the films with action scenes that are huge in scale and feel like they slot in really well with the rest of the MCU. But I do think this show has a few issues with its pacing, there are only 6 episodes but I think it needed at least 8, there are a lot of story arcs going on here and not all of them have as much time dedicated to them as they really needed.

Overall

Overall, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is a great show that does a great job with its characters. This is just another great addition to The MCU and sets up some pretty exciting things for the future that may affect the TV and Film universes so give this one a watch.

Your Honor Season 1 (2021) Review

Your Honor Season 1 (2021) Review

Late last year this show came out in the US to some pretty decent reviews and now it has made its way to the UK and I have watched the first season for Your Honor and here is my review for it. The premise of the show sees a Judge have to go to extreme lengths to save his son when he is in involved in a hit and run incident involving a crime boss.

Main Character

The great Bryan Cranston plays the Judge here and he is of course brilliant. In my opinion, there aren't too many better actors on the planet then Cranston and he does a great job in the lead role. Yes, it is quite similar to his role of Walter White in Breaking Bad but it is different enough for him to bring a new depth to this character, for me he acts rings around everybody else here, not that their bad but it shows just how great he is throughout the whole season.

Supporting Characters

Isiah Whitlock Jr plays his best friend on the show and I thought he was really good too, the dynamic between the two characters is a really nice one and I think both of the actors gave plenty to their friendship and that whole part of the show. Hunter Doohan plays Cranston's son on the show and I thought he was decent in this show, I thought his relationship with his father was another highlight of the show and them together at the beginning of the show is what drives those early episodes for show and he was a part of that. Michael Stuhlbarg plays the bad guy and I wouldn't say he has tonnes of depth but he does a decent job and plays an intimidating mob boss well and I thought he delivered some intense scenes that is good for the show. This show has a large cast and I thought everybody did a good job in their roles with the acting being one of the better elements of the show.

Story

The story is good, it is interesting seeing this man who is basically the wielder of the law, having to do some shady things in order to protect the person closest to him and Cranston does a great job in conveying that. Also when this show gets into the courtroom it is great and intense and due to things Cranston has done it makes it more intriguing then usual court room dramas for sure. Also this show has a brilliant ending that makes me hope we get a second season. But this show had an issue, that it had to be shut down due to the Pandemic, and I thought it really showed. Certain elements of the story are either forgotten about or newly introduced in the final few episodes and it feels very strange and like the show had issues with what it could do.

Script

The script is very good, the show is very intense and has plenty of dramatic scenes and they are all handled really well. Also when the humour and family moments are needed, I thought they were there and it helped flesh out the characters that are on screen.

Style

The show is interesting and does have some intensity in its style and always tries to keep Cranston's character always on his toes. But again the show's pacing becomes a bit skewed when it is clear that Covid protocols are more in place, maybe a few less episodes could have helped this as maybe it takes a bit too long to get moving in terms of its plot.

Overall

Overall, I really enjoyed Your Honor. It is a great and intense show, people will obviously compare it to Breaking Bad but it is not close to those levels. If it gets a second season it could have a strong running and I think this is a show you should give your time to.

Pennyworth Season 1 (2019) Review

Pennyworth Season 1 (2019) Review

With Season 2 just hitting the UK I made it a priority to watch the first season of Pennyworth and I have not achieved that and here is my review for it. The premise of the show sees the origins of Alfred Pennyworth a former SAS agent in London who gets dragged into a huge conflict.

Main Character

Jack Bannon plays Pennyworth and I thought he was truly great here, at first it does feel like he was doing a dodgy Michael Caine impression but I just grew to really like this character and sympathise with him. He is just such a charming character and I think the fact that he is so unpredictable in the way he acts really helps, he gets dragged into conflict after conflict and it is really funny seeing how he reacts to these different parties and how mad this whole show is.

Supporting Characters

Ben Aldridge plays Thomas Wayne and I thought he fit the role well, really when it comes to this character in terms of live action this is the most we have ever seen him and Aldridge does a good job. I like how his character acts and they take him in a bit of a different direction then you would expect and he feels like a good counterpoint to Pennyworth. Emma Paetz plays Martha Kane and she is good, she is a strong character and considering when the show is set she feels very fresh and a character that fits well with the more rough male characters. She shares the majority of her scenes with Aldridge and they have good chemistry and a nice dynamic that makes there solo parts better then they should be. Jason Flemyng plays the villain and he is good, he just has a presence about him and even though he isn't that deep a character he is a fun part of the cast and is a good antagonist for the show. I though Alfred's two mates were fun and his parents were really great too. The one bit of casting I wasn't particularly on board with was Paloma Faith as a villain, she is just really over the top and not in the fun way like the other characters, but by the end I accepted it as there are plenty of entertaining performances here.

Story

The best thing I can stay about the story is that if you changed a few of the characters names and the shows name and didn't have the comic book connection people would still find it interesting. Alfred is a great character and his development is fantastic, it is fascinating seeing this shows depiction of London and the way that society works. I got to say that the story is mad, and so over the top but it really works and fits into the style of the show. But the issue is that this show is incredibly bloated, there is so much going on that it is hard to care about all of it, a few characters that are underused and not given the time to shine and it feels like the show would have been better to streamline the arcs for this season.

Script

The script is very good, the humour is very dry and Pennyworth is a really funny character that adds so much to this pretty serious show. The drama also works and adds some really surprising and shocking moments that rises the quality of the overall product.

Style

The style is incredibly graphic, it has some real shocks and violence but it works here and doesn't feel like just an excuse to put unnecessary violence on screen. But the pacing doesn't always hold up, as I mentioned in the story aspect, there are a few too many stories going on and it slows the show down, also there could have been a few less episodes that would have made it a much better show.

Overall

Overall, I really enjoyed the first season of Pennyworth. It feels very different to most comic book shows and if you like violent action shows then give this one a go, I don't think you will regret it.

Tribes of Europa Season 1 (2021) Review

Tribes of Europa Season 1 (2021) Review

On Friday, a new show came to Netflix called Tribes of Europa. It is a German show, so I watched it with subtitles as watching any foreign film or TV show it is the only way to go and here is my review for the first season. The premise of the show is set way in the future when the world has been devastated, Europe has been set into tribes and sees three siblings go on journeys throughout the continent looking to come together and survive.

Main Character

So there are three main characters who are all siblings trying to survive and I thought they were all good in their roles. The characters of Liv, Kiano & Elja are all different in their own ways and are all given interesting story arcs throughout the show, they all link together but manage to stay separate to give them the chance to shine and credit has to go to them for all delivering really strong performances.

Supporting Characters

There are plenty of supporting characters but the best one is clearly the character of Moses played by experienced German actor Oliver Masucci who was in another highly rated German show Dark. He is basically the Han Solo of the show and is the loveable scoundrel that is full of energy and full of life, the best parts of the show is when he is on screen for sure. There are other really good supporting characters such as their Father, a character called Vavara and David. They all play their parts in the show and add intrigue and quality to the different story arcs.

Story

The story is good, I really liked the lore that is set up here, the crossing of sci-fi with action and survival was a good choice and seeing the different tribes and their different ideologies is unique and I hope we see more tribes in the future that makes them feel all vast and special. The characters stories all have an emotional core to them and they are interesting in their own different ways and set up an exciting future for the show. But my one criticism would be that, it feels very much like this season of the shows job was to set up things for the future and it does a good job of that but it also feels like it isn't quite complete and like it just had to get through these narratives to get to the stories they really want to tell.

Script

As said at the top this is a German spoken show but at times there are some English chucked in there and at first I was worried that would complicate things but actually I quite liked it. This is a show about a continent where people would speak different languages so it feels natural that people wouldn't just speak one language. This show does have some well done humour and some really dramatic moments mixed with interesting characters and that is a win for me.

Style

The show is brutal in terms of its action and it is great, the no hold back attitude makes it stand out and feel unique. The world building is really well done and I really like the universe that has been built and I think if they play their cards right they could have a big franchise for the future. But I sometimes felt like the pacing was a bit off, like we didn't see one element of the story as much and I know that not everything can have the same screen time but it did hurt it a bit for me.

Overall

Overall, I thought this was a great show. I have seen some negative reviews but in my opinion you should ignore them and give this show a watch, if you like action heavy fantasy shows then Tribes of Europa could be one for you like it was for me.

Lupin Part 1 (2021) Review

Lupin Part 1 (2021) Review

I have heard for a while now that Lupin is a great show and a must watch and I have now found some time to watch it and here is my review for the first part of the show. The premise of the show sees a master thief inspired by book character Arsene Lupin attempt to get revenge on a wealthy family.

Main Character

Omar Sy is a great actor whether it be in English language or French Language and he really shines here. He is so charismatic on the screen and does a great job portraying this character and making him a really interesting one. Without spoiling anything, this character requires a lot of unique work for Sy and he takes it all in his stride and really gives a memorable performance.

Supporting Characters

Let's get this right, this is Sy's show and he dominates every scene that he is in and for me that holds back a few of the supporting characters a little bit. There are a few good side characters, like his on and off love interest, the main bad guy and the police commissioner, but for all of these there are a few weaker characters. Especially, the main guy hunting down Sy, he doesn't offer anything that interesting and his character actually makes little sense and the way he goes about things are a bit hard to wrap your head around. There are some other people that are in the show in small ways and they just don't really fit and it made me think that they could have just been left out here.

Story

The story is good, Sy's personal story works really well and you do root for him and feel the injustice that has been placed on him and his family. The show also delivers some really fun and interesting heists and seeing him execute these is a great watch. The ending of the season is also great with suspense built when they eventually give us the 2nd part. But this show has bits of the story that aren't that interesting, for example their are lots of flashbacks, some of them are effective but there are too many of them and some that aren't effective that disrupt the flow of the show. Also some of the side plots aren't particularly well developed and feel a bit of a drag on the whole thing.

Script

The script is really good, this show is French Language with English Subtitles and that doesn't hold it back at all. The dialogue mixes humour and drama really well and creates this fascinating lead character that you wanna root for and succeed in his goals.

Style

The style of the show is also great, the heists are really well directed and exciting to watch especially, in the first episode where the show really excels in this department. Also I am going to give credit to the costume department who do a great job as Sy has some interesting disguises which are really well done. The show is only 5 episodes long and it flows very nicely and feels like an appropriate length and makes it a really easy watch that I got through in one day and I would recommend you do the same.

Overall

Overall, this is a great show. Don't be put off by the French subtitles and give this one a shot you won't regret it and I can't wait for Part 2.
