Johnny Depp Removed from Fantastic Beasts 3 - What does this mean for the future of the franchise

So big news came out the other day that after his legal issues Johnny Depp has agreed to step down as his role as Grindelwald in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts 3, which in itself has been delayed. Now I don't want to go to much into the legal details but I wanted to look at what this news could mean for Depp and the future of Fantastic Beasts films. 

Will Depp ever be able to recover? 

So this is obviously huge news for the career of Johnny Depp and I do wonder whether he can ever recover from this and be a success story again. With his involvement in The Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise being over and his role in this franchise being over is that the end of Depp's mainstream acting career. I mean hopefully not, hopefully, there can be a redemption story and Depp can eventually get a comeback. 

Will Colin Farrell return in the role?

So in the first Fantastic Beasts film Colin Farrell plays a villain who is revealed to secretly be Grindelwald. So with Depp out could Farrell return for the third film in the role as it would make more sense then a recast, honestly I am not sure whether Farrell would be interested in that but it would still be strange to see him return to the franchise after Depp's performance in the sequel. 

Will Fantastic Beasts 3 even happen?

Along with this news it also has been confirmed that Fantastic Beasts 3 has been delayed which seems to be happening to films every day at the moment. But let's face it The Fantastic Beasts films haven't been a huge critical or financial success so could this lead to Warner Bros scrapping the project and moving in a different direction with Harry Potter and the wizarding world. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if the film was cancelled and they try and take this franchise in a different direction. 

Overall

Overall, this Johnny Depp stuff is all terrible from every die and it does suck that he has lost this role and honestly it feels like this could be the end for not only him but also The Fantastic Beasts Films.
