Opinion - Why the extra episode of Tiger King is a waste of time

Opinion - Why the extra episode of Tiger King is a waste of time

so today the highly anticipated new episode of Tiger King was released, now my review for the show stays the same as I don't count this episode as part of the review so that rating stays the same. I am also not going to do a review for the episode because there is very little ro review, so instead I am going to do an opinion piece and give my reasons for why the new episode of Tiger King is a waste of time.

We Learn Nothing

The hook of this episode was to find out new things to do with the cast and hopefully find out what the cast had been up to since the series, but literally nothing interesting has developed and it feels like just their reaction to the series. If you go on the internet you pretty much know everything about these people since the show so there is very little you learn.

The lack of Joe Exotic & Carole Baskin

Lets face it the most interesting part of the show is the feud that goes on between Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic, seeing it develop and become worse and worse is what drives the show. However, with Carole refusing to do this episode and Joe still in jail we are stuck with the supporting characters that we pretty much learn everything about on the show and have nothing else to add.

No confrontational questions

Lets face it there are some really quesionable actions committed by the majority of characters of the show, but there are no questions really asking why they commited these terrible acts or why they think other characters comitted them. They focus on more laughs but the people are never confronted or made to answer for things they did. Also I believe they missed a chance by having the people confront each other as a few of them say bad things about the others but they never get them talking to each other and this was clearly a missed opportunity.

Joel McHale not taking it too seriously as a host

Joel McHale was the one chose to host this episode and I thought he did a pretty poor job, he chose to focus on jokes and make the people laugh instead of asking them important questions and try and find out there emotions about there actions and really go into depth about there opinions of the show.

Overall

Overall, if you are a fan of the show, you will be sucked in and watch this episode but for me this feels like a tacked on extra part of the show that doesn't add to the truly brilliant docuseries.
