Hayden Christensen to return as Darth Vader for Obi-Wan Kenobi TV Series

So the big news continues after the Disney investors meeting with Hayden Christensen returning to the role of Darth Vader for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney + Series. This has been news that people have wanted for years and now it has come here is what I think of it. 

How will Darth Vader be used? 

For me the most interesting part of this casting is how exactly is Vader going to be used on this show. Reports have come out that the show will focus on Vader hunting for Obi-Wan, which on paper seems a good idea I am just not sure if it works with the history of the characters. I think a preference could be in some sort of vision story which haunts Obi-Wan as he goes on his journey but somehow Obi-Wan has to know about Vader's transformation before they get to A New Hope. 

The show will include flashbacks from during The Clone Wars

This was reported a few months ago, that there will be some flashbacks to Obi-Wan & Anakin's time in The Clone Wars that will flesh out their characters more. They will use de-ageing technology to achieve this and if it is done correctly this could be fantastic and add so much to the show. 

Temuera Morrison could return as Captain Rex

It seems a Star Wars story can't go by without mention of Temuera Morrison, so here it is. If these flashbacks are true we should see Temuera Morrison return as Captain Rex and probably Commander Cody too. Obviously again this would require de-ageing technology but I think it would be great to see that relationship grow. 

Will we see a young Luke Skywalker?

It has been confirmed that Obi-Wan's mission on this show is to protect Luke Skywalker, so is there  a chance we could see a young Luke Skywalker appear on the show and even get involved with the plot in some way. We know that the two characters know of each other when they meet in a New Hope so will be interesting how that happens. 

Hopefully James Earl Jones return as the voice of Vader

This is something that hasn't been announced yet but surely if Vader is returning then the iconic James Earl Jones will be returning to voice the role and it is that simple, he is the only live action voice of the character that I am okay to see. 

Could we see Hayden Christensen return in other projects? 

Recently Rian Johnson admitted that he considered using Christensen as Anakin in the Yoda role in The Last Jedi so it seems that Christensen's return has been on the cards for a while now. So after his appearance on Obi-Wan Kenobi could we see him return in other Star Wars Projects, the main one for me as I mentioned in my other post is the Ahsoka show. I feel like for the story of that show we have to see Anakin at least once to really round out that story and make it feel complete. 

Overall

Overall, it is nice to see Christensen get a chance to play this role again and I think given the gap of time since he has played a role it will be a nice thing and hopefully the dynamic is well handled on the show.
