Loki Season 1 (2021) Trailer Review

Loki Season 1 (2021) Trailer Review

For me the biggest trailer from last night has to be this one, the first real footage that we have seen for the first season of Loki and I cannot believe how much footage they had. The trailer was fantastic and here are my thoughts and my review of it.

Will be set straight after the events of Avengers: Endgame

We see in Avengers: Endgame that when The Avengers travel back to 2012, Loki from that timeline manages to steal The Tesseract and escape. This show is going to document where he ended up and it seems in the middle of a desert, whether that is on Earth or not we will have to see.

Loki is still Evil on this show

Over the years Loki has gone from an evil villain to a pretty much redeemed Anti Hero in a really great character arc. But this version of the character is picked up straight from the end of the first Avengers film where he was at his most evil. I really hope the showrunners haven't forgotten that and allow Loki to be more villainous and allow Tom Hiddleston's charisma to show through.

Owen Wilson looks like he is going to be a fun addition

When Owen Wilson was announced to be on this show it did seem a bit of a strange choice but after this trailer I am convinced by it. Him and Hiddleston seem to have decent chemistry and could be a fun thing to watch.

Loki will work for the Time Variance Authority

It seems like eventually Loki will go rogue and do his own thing, but at first it seems like he will be convinced to work with The TVA and you wonder what exact goals he has to use the organisation for.

Who s the hooded figure?

There is a hooded figure that appears a few times in the trailer and now the theories have to come out of it. I reckon that either it is Richard E Grant's character or a version of Loki from another timeline, either way it seems like it will be a wildcard of the show and look to get in Loki's way.

Is Black Widow in this show?

There is a quick shot in this trailer of a woman with red hair sat in a weird world and my question is that Black Widow. Is this show planning on reviving her or is she trapped in the Soul World instead of dying, it would be a daring move to make that decision in this show but one that we might see.

Thor & Heimdall will be on this show, Probably?

There is a scene set towards the end of the trailer which seems to be set in Modern day and sees Loki going after Thor & Heimdall in Asgard. Thinking this is a new timeline this could be fascinating and see a different version of all these characters and different outcomes of the encounter.

Loki becomes President of a destroyed Earth

Taken from a recent comic book run, Loki is sporting gear making out that he is the president of Earth. It seems that in this timeline Earth has been destroyed and Loki has tried to take over despite protests from the locals.

Overall

Overall, I thought this trailer was fantastic and did a great job in getting me pumped for the show and I cannot wait to watch it when it hits Disney+ next year.
